“There are two things that have really encouraged me within our BB company. One is how the Company Section have taken a real interest in learning about the Bible, and for a number of weeks, were being taught by the minister how to read and understand the Bible, all because they themselves expressed that they wanted to learn how to read and understand the Bible, and each week, really engaged with the lessons. Another thing that has encouraged me is that the children and young people are at BB because they want to be there. They are not forced to be there.
The Scriptures teach us, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it.”
In many ways, you could think of the phrase, “Teach them early.” God wants children to come to Him. He wants them to learn about Him, and the earlier they start, the better, as they can grow up learning about Him, and it sets them up in their journey to God, with the hope that they will give their lives to God and live for Him all the days of their lives, not turning away from Him and what they’ve learnt. To see children grow up and give their lives to God, and to see how they have matured in their faith is a wonderful thing, and a real encouragement, and is wonderful way to see God working through His people. As Jesus says in the Gospel of Luke “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Jesus is encouraging us to let children come to Him, and doesn’t want us to stop them from giving their lives to Him. Having been taught about the Gospel since I was a young age, through my family, and various organisations, I’m very thankful for that, and the path that God has set out for me and I pray that the children and young people in BB will follow the path God has planned for them.
